A Different Approach To Physical Therapy

Treat The Whole Person

You are so unique! Your treatment plan is built around your symptoms, your goals, your training history, and what you actually want to get back to doing.

Hands-On

Manual therapy and functional dry needling can be powerful tools for reducing symptoms, improving mobility, and helping you move more comfortably. We use hands-on treatment intentionally—as part of a larger plan to get you moving again.

Keep Moving

Movement is part of the solution. Whenever possible, we’ll find ways to keep you active while modifying what’s necessary, rather than simply telling you to rest and wait for things to improve.

Build Capacity

Rehabilitation should prepare you for real life. We use progressive strength, mobility, and movement training to gradually increase what your body can tolerate and help you return to the activities that matter to you.

Pain relief is important. Getting your life back is the goal.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy for the Way You Move

From everyday aches and persistent pain to sports injuries and returning to high-level performance, treatment is designed around what your body needs—and what you want it to be able to do.

We work with active adults and athletes across a wide range of orthopedic conditions, with an emphasis on restoring movement, building strength, and helping you confidently return to the activities you love.

Treatment Built Around You

No two people—and no two injuries—are exactly alike. Your treatment starts with understanding what’s going on, what’s limiting you, and most importantly, what you want to get back to doing.

From there, we build a plan that meets you where you are and progressively moves you toward where you want to be.

01 - Understand the Problem

We start with a thorough evaluation of your movement, strength, mobility, symptoms, training history, and goals. The goal is to understand not only where you hurt, but what may be contributing to the problem and what’s keeping you from doing the things you want to do.

02 - Build Your Plan

Your treatment plan is built specifically around you. Depending on what you need, treatment may include manual therapy, functional dry needling, mobility work, movement retraining, progressive strength training, activity modification, and a focused home program that fits into your actual life.

03 - Get Back to What You Love

As you improve, treatment progresses with you. We gradually increase strength, load, movement complexity, and activity-specific demands so you’re prepared to return to the gym, trail, sport, work, or everyday life with confidence.

The goal isn't to keep you in physical therapy. It's to give you the tools, strength, and confidence to keep moving without us.

THE FORWARD PHYSIOTHERAPY DIFFERENCE

One-on-One Care. Hands-On Treatment. Built Around You.

Dr. Joe Burkeland smiling and welcoming clients to Complete Concussion Care in Fort Collins, offering expert concussion therapy and personalized recovery plans.

When you schedule physical therapy with me, you work directly with me for your entire visit. No aides, no overlapping appointments, and no bouncing between providers.

I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy and CrossFit Level 1 coach, and my approach blends hands-on treatment with movement, strength, and progressive loading. I value manual therapy and use techniques including joint and soft tissue mobilization, functional dry needling, and other hands-on interventions when they can help reduce symptoms, restore movement, and create a better opportunity to move and strengthen.

The goal is to use the right combination of manual therapy, exercise, and progressive loading to help you move better, build capacity, and confidently return to the things you want to do. Whether that means getting back under a barbell, returning to the trail, competing in your sport, keeping up with your kids, or simply feeling strong and capable again, we’ll build your rehabilitation around that goal.

100% One-on-One

Your entire appointment is spent directly with your physical therapist.

Hands-on Care

Manual therapy and functional dry needling are valuable tools we use to reduce symptoms and support your recovery.

Fitness-Forward

Strength, movement, and progressive loading are central to rehabilitation.

Built Around You

Treatment is individualized to your body, your goals, and the activities you want to return to.

Pain or injury doesn’t have to mean giving up the activities that make you feel like yourself.

At Forward Physiotherapy, we combine individualized, one-on-one care with hands-on treatment and progressive rehabilitation to help you feel better, move with confidence, and return to the activities that matter to you.
